Stadium tours

A stadium tour of the RheinEnergieSTADION is an unforgettable experience for people of all ages. Take a look behind the scenes and visit areas of the stadium that are normally reserved for VIPs or players. Walk through the players’ tunnel onto the pitch. Take a seat on the FC Cologne bench and visit the players’ changing room.

Some tour highlights:

Public StadiumTour

Take a seat where the FC Cologne coach usually sits. Walk through the belly of the stadium out onto the pitch. Stand in FC Cologne’s hallowed changing rooms. On a tour of the RheinEnergieSTADION, you will see things from a whole new perspective.

The experience lasts between 75 and 90 minutes, but will stay with you for weeks to come.

Not least, because our stadium tour guides will be happy to reveal insider information, tell you exciting facts about the design of the ultra-modern building and provide you with insights that are normally reserved for players, coaches and other “movers and shakers” in the RheinEnergieSTADION.

TrippelTour – stadium tour with matchday announcer Michael Trippel

Having known the RheinEnergieSTADION since it opened in 2004, Michael Trippel is an unequivocal insider who peppers his stadium tours with numerous anecdotes from his work as stadium announcer for FC Cologne. He also takes visitors to his favourite spot in the stadium: the announcer’s cabin!

There you can watch him deliver his famous “Welcome to Germany’s most beautiful city” line and also press Germany’s most famous button – the one that illuminates the stadium’s pylons in flashing red and white every time FC Cologne scores a goal. For all fans of the RheinEnergieSTADION and FC Cologne, this tour is sure to be a lot of fun and an unforgettable experience with lots of insights! The “TrippelTour” also includes a visit to the changing rooms and a souvenir photo in the dugout.

The ChampionsTour with Harald Konopka

Those were the days! Come on our ChampionsTour, the perfect one-two pass between the present and the glorious past of FC Cologne.

Experience this stadium tour with FC Cologne legend Harald Konopka, who was part of the team that won the double in the 1977/78 season. The former world-class defender has many stories to tell about the glory days of FC Cologne and will also show you parts of the stadium that are still significant all these years later.

Of course, you’ll also be able to get photos and autographs from Konopka during the tour; after all, not only was he a great footballer, he’s also a great person. Experience him and his tour for yourself!

The Guido Ostrowski StadiumTour

Picture off, volume up! Almost every FC Cologne fan knows his voice. Podcaster and radio presenter Guido Ostrowski takes you on a tour of the RheinEnergieSTADION and shows you his spot in the journalists’ box. During the tour, he’ll share numerous anecdotes from his job as a presenter. Find out how he manages to keep all the fans informed while retaining the emotionality of the event and discover his matchday routine!

MatchDayTour (matchdays only)

The atmosphere in the RheinEnergieSTADIONjust before kick-off is electric. Experience this amazing atmosphere up close from the edge of the pitch and in the backstage area.

What goes on just before the game? What needs to be done?

On our MatchDayTour we’ll show you the commentary box, where all the journalists will be sitting and reporting in just a few moments time. You’ll see what our grounds person does on the pitch just before kick-off and visit the stylish VIP area as it’s being prepared for the many awaited guests.

A MatchDayTour ends with a visit to the Lukas Podolski Box where you’ll have a fantastic VIP view of the pitch before you take your seats in the stands.

StadiumTour “op kölsch”

With its striking architecture and four pylons, the RheinEnergieSTADION has long been a landmark of the city of Cologne and is a true mecca for many locals – both those born here and those who have adopted the city as their own. That’s why we offer regular tours of the stadium “op kölsch” in the local dialect.

As well as exclusive access to areas of the stadium such as the stands, the VIP and business sections,the Press Conference Room, the mixed Zone, the changing rooms and the dugout, the tour also features many puns made possible by the Rhineland dialect as well as numerous anecdotes in the Kölsch language. This is a very entertaining tour for anyone who has some understanding of the “kölsche Sproch”.
